This phrase started when I was young. My dad used to joke with me after football and say:
"No goals, no sleep."
If I hadn't scored, he'd remind me that I hadn't finished the job yet. At the time it was about football, goals, and wanting to improve every single day. As I grew older and went on to play professional football, that phrase stayed with me. It became part of my mentality. It pushed me to do everything possible to improve, not just on the pitch, but off it too. My recovery, sleep, nutrition, work rate and discipline. I learned that success is built on habits.
As I matured, I realised my dad's words were never really about scoring goals. They were about effort, standards, responsibility and doing everything you can to achieve what you say you want.
That's what NOGOALSNOSLEEP means today.
I want people to feel the same mindset it gave me, a reminder to stay disciplined and stay consistent.
It goes beyond sport. Your goal might be building a business, passing your exams, providing for your family, getting fit, growing your confidence, or becoming who you know you can be.
